MACHADO Maider
Senior Researcher
Short Bio
Maider MACHADO obtained her degree in Fundamental Physics by the University of Oviedo (Spain) in 1997. PhD in Solid State Physics by the University of the Basque Country (Spain) in 2003. PhD thesis on electronic lifetimes in surface states and ab-initio electronic simulation of low dimensional systems.
One-year post-doctoral stage at the Nanoscience Group of the Center for Materials Elaboration and Structural Studies (CEMES-CNRS) in Toulouse, France. Work focused on the theoretical simulation of Scanning Transmission Microscopy (STM) images of nanostructures.
From 2005 to 2007, researcher in CIDEMCO-Tecnalia (now Tecnalia R&I). Head of Glass for Building Unit and coordination of R&D activities of Construction Department. Researcher in the Energy Efficiency Area. Project Manager in R&D projects focused on photovoltaics.
2007-2008: researcher at the Technical Department of Cristalería Soler Hermanos. Development of a commercial software tool for the optical and thermal simulation of glazing systems.
From 2008, project manager at Solar Energy Group of Tecnalia Research & Innovation. Development of research projects focused on the optical design and characterisation of different elements of PV systems (concentration lenses, multilayer coatings, multilayer glazing systems), as well as the design and development of new photovoltaic products for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). Project coordinator of H2020 PVSITES project, "Building-integrated technologies and systems for large scale market deployment".
