Courses & schools

The aim of this task is the training of CHEETAH partner’s scientific community based on the offer/demand of expertise, infrastructures, equipment. A set of training interactive courses  is running  planned in collaboration with all Joint Research Activity leaders and WP3-mobility and international Cooperation activities and WP4-Dissemination, internal-External Communication. Ther courses offer opportunities to gain practical and professional skill in using equipment and test procedures in research activity.   The targeted audience should  range  from 5-10 to maximum 20 participants in order to enable a large number of them to effectively interact with experts.

The School was founded in 1999 is providing Ph.D. students with the opportunity to broaden their knowledge in the research areas of Power Electronics, Electrical Machines and Drives, Power Systems. The School has gained an increasing relevance thanks to the participation of highly qualified lecturers:in 2009 the School gained the title of “European” Ph.D. School. Its 17th edition and it can be considered one of the most relevant event in Europe involving PhD Students specializing in these specific branches of skill.

The 2-day IFE Light Trapping Course 2015 originally planned in October 2015, was moved to 2016. It  will cover a broad range of topics related to light trapping in solar cells, with a focus on crystalline silicon solar cells. There will also be ample opportunities for questions and discussions. The course is free of charge for CHEETAH participants.

The 9th edition of the International School on Hybrid and Organic Photovoltaics (ISOPHOS®) was held from the 7th till 11th of September 2015 in Castiglione della Pescaia (Tuscany, Italy). The school was focused on recent advances in science and technology of organic and hybrid photovoltaic devices, including small molecules, polymers, perovskites, dye solar cells and the use of Graphene and other 2D materials for energy applications

the Institute for Crystal Growth (IKZ) invited students and young scientists to its 8th summer course, which was held in Berlin from 13th-15th of July 2015. The topics covered defects in crystalline materials and their impact on electrical and optical properties, which is of particular interest for improving the efficiency of solar cells. Financial support for travel and accommodation were provided to CHEETAH members.
