REEEM Technology and Innovation Roadmap Workshop on Renewable Energy Integration.

[WORKSHOP]

17th of April 2018
@ EIT InnoEnergy premises, Rue Guimard 7, 1040 Brussels

The organizers are delighted to invite you to the second REEEM Technology and Innovation Roadmap Workshop on Renewable Energy Integration organized In the framework of the H2020 REEEM project Energy System Modelling Project.

Renewable energy has the potential to play a big role in the transition pathways toward a European low carbon society. In accordance, ambitious targets have been set for development and deployment of renewable energies in the last decades. To achieve this ambition, there is a need for technological innovation and sustained market supports for the development of the renewable energies, as well as for finding approaches to fully integrate renewable energies into the energy system efficiently and effectively. Our roadmap will address these issues by thorough analysis of three groups of renewable energies, namely wind, solar and ocean energies.

The workshop will consist of two parts:

  • Morning session is dedicated to keynote speakers discussing drivers and challenges in the European renewable energy industry and how innovation can be a solution to unlock some existing bottlenecks.
  • Afternoon session dedicated to the consolidation of the REEEM roadmap through a roundtable session. During this session you will be invited to identify ‘what are the technological and market solutions necessary to achieve the EU ambition for 2050. The roadmap will be sent to you a week before the event.
