Description of organization
Launched since 2011, the iCUBE is a joint research laboratory of University of Strasbourg, the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research), the ENGEES and the INSA of Strasbourg with activities carried out in the fields of engineering science, computer science and medical engineering.
The MaCEPV, for Materials for Electronics and Photovoltaic Devices, is one among the 15 research groups of iCUBE. The research activities concern three themes:
T1. Materials and concepts for inorganic photovoltaics
T2. Organic electronic and photovoltaic devices
T3. Ion beam assisted processes
The investigations deal with the development of innovative processes for wafer based silicon solar cells (multicrystalline, ribbon), formation and characterization of ultrathin film silicon solar cells on foreign substrates, synthesis and characterization of oxide/nitride based nanostructured materials for optoelectronics, optimization of sensors and organic solar cells, modification/synthesis of new materials by ion beams for the development of innovative electronic components, development of models and simulation tools to study the charge transport in photovoltaic and electronic components.
The activities uses advanced infrastructures such as technological platforms (clean room, glove box), unique facilities for the synthesis of materials (ion implanters, lasers, CVD, sputtering) and structural analysis (RBS, ERDA, Raman ...) and optoelectronic investigations (photoluminescence, spectral response, ...).
The MaCEPV team is involved in numerous national (ANR, AMI...) and European projects (INTERREG, FP7, EUROGIA...) as well as in international collaborations (Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Turkey …)
