CHEETAH knowledge Exchange Portal is an integral part of CHEETAH project web site powered and developed by DTE unit of ENEA ©2014 - 2018 with support of all CHEETAH Partners. Starting from early 2018, CHEETAH KEP moved its first steps to became EERA Knowledge Exchange Platform for PV Technology (KEPT-PV). A new name for the previous platform characterizing our will to serve better and more efficiently in Knowledge Exchange a wider European and International PV RTD community.

The highlights of CHEETAH project presented @ EUPVSEC2017


Every year the experts of the PV solar branch meet at EU PVSEC to discuss new concepts, trends and developments in science and industry. The EU PVSEC provides the most inspiring platform for dialogue and information exchange across the World. The international Conference programme are structured in plenary, oral and visual presentations and covers the entire range of PV research, technologies and applications, focusing on the latest scientific, technological and market-related trends. Now, that Photovoltaic Solar Energy is becoming a major electricity source, the EU PVSEC extended its focus to applied and policy-oriented topics. The EU PVSEC thus strengthens its established leading role in science and technology among the players of the global PV sector.

The 33rd edition  of EU PVSEC series was held in Amsterdam from from 25 to 29 September, 2017- It attracted 2,516 participants to the industry exhibition and conference. Solar experts from 65 countries made 1,107 presentations.

CHEETAH project has been presented @ EUPVSEC 2017 during the session TOPIC 7: PV Economics and Markets / PV-Related Policies, Strategies and Societal Issues (Oral presentation 7EO.3.5  session -  Friday, 29 September 2017  08:30 - 10:00)

The presentantion reported about the main achievements in Coordinative and Support actions (CSA) and Joint Research activities (JRA).


JRA-Joint Research Activities:

Cost reduction strategy in Wafer-based crystalline Si

  • Fabrication of kerf free EPI foils from 40-80 micron
  • Cell processing of ultra-thin EPI-wafers
  • Cell integration into modules

Cost reduction strategy in thin film PV

  • Light management strategies for thin film Silicon produced by liquid phase crystallization
  • Micro concentrator approach

Cost reduction strategy in materials research for Organic PV

  • to identify materials and develop intrinsically stable devices  towards water and oxygen
  • developing cheap methods for improving barrier properties


Coordination (CSA) activities

  • by  creating  a framework for cooperation through the development of  knowledge exchange tools like CHEETAH Knowledge exchnage Platform (KEP)  and the  e-learning platform available for training courses, workshop and  lectures.
  • by  fostering mobility actions by  research exchanges within the consortium for training and educational purposes of student and young researchers
  • by organizing technical discussion and test and round robin procedures to maximize the sharing of expertise and best practice
