CHEETAH knowledge Exchange Portal is an integral part of CHEETAH project web site powered and developed by DTE unit of ENEA ©2014 - 2018 with support of all CHEETAH Partners. Starting from early 2018, CHEETAH KEP moved its first steps to became EERA Knowledge Exchange Platform for PV Technology (KEPT-PV). A new name for the previous platform characterizing our will to serve better and more efficiently in Knowledge Exchange a wider European and International PV RTD community.

Short Bio

Dr. Salvador Ponce Alcántara holds extensive experience in photovoltaics, both in scientific research and its application in the industry. He received his PhD from the IES Madrid in 2007 with a PhD thesis on UMG-Si solar cells, topic where he pursued his research furtherin order to study in detail the temperature dependence of this type of cells for one of the well-established companies in the field.

After defending his thesis he joined the R & D department at Isofotón, where he was responsible for the development and optimization of cell manufacturing processes. In particular, he specialized in cell surface passivation by PECVD. In 2010 he joined the company Pevafersa as a development engineer of Silicon photovoltaic cells and modules, where he developed new processes of texturing and improved the phosphorus diffusion and gettering for different starting material. During this time, he also work on the optimization of the laminating process for the modules.

In 2011 he joined the photovoltaic area Nanophotonic Technology Center at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain as a senior researcher where he successfully completed the optimization of a back-contact cell under European project LIMA. He has recently focused his research in developing a systematic model for the study and optimization of the light losses at module level, where he applied novel light trapping strategies to obtain significant optical gain improvements of photovoltaic modules
