HAASS Stefan G.
Researcher in kesterite solar cells
EMPA - Laboratory for Thin Films and Photovoltaic
Short Bio
Stefan Haass studied physics at the University of Karlsruhe (now: KIT) until 2012. His diploma thesis was conducted in collaboration with ZSW and investigated the CIGS absorber surface with scanning tunneling spectroscopy. Afterwards, he worked for 6 month at ULVAC Ltd. in Chigasaki (Japan) on vacuum deposition techniques with a focus on sputtering of ZnO buffer layers for CIGS solar cells. In October 2017 he got his PhD at Empa in the Laboratory for Thin Films and Photovoltaic as a Marie Curie fellow in the Kestcell project. He focused his studies in solution processed kesterite solar cells and selenization of kesterite precursors in various annealing reactors and alkali treatments of kesterite solar cells. He recently defended his PhD thesis with the title “Alkali treatment of solution processed kesterite solar cells” on the 23rd of October 2017.
