Postdoctoral researcher @ UPM-nstituto de Energía Solar
Instituto de Energía Solar
Short Bio
Dr. Pablo García-Linares graduated as Telecommunication Engineer at the Technical University of Madrid (UPM) in Madrid, Spain and as Electronic Engineer at the École Nationale Supérieure de l’Electronique et de ses Applications (ENSEA) in France, both in 2006. Then, he did a PhD in PV solar energy at the Solar Energy Institute (IES) of the UPM, under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Martí and funded by a doctorate Fellowship from UPM. As part of his PhD training, he spent three months and a half at the Okada Lab in the Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) at the University of Tokyo in Japan, learning on MBE reactor epitaxial growth and solar cell processing. Dr. García-Linares obtained his PhD with honours (Summa Cum Laude) in 2012. After that, he was hired by the Atomic Energy and Alternative Energies Commission (CEA) to work at the CPV Lab at the National Institute for Solar Energy (INES) where he undertook the tasks of multijunction solar cell (MJSC) and concentrator photovoltaics (CPV) receiver and module design, fabrication and characterization. He currently works at IES-UPM, as a senior post-doc in charge of the design, processing and characterization of the PV novel concepts proposed in the Fundamental and Studies Group. He has supervised 3 Master’s degree final projects and is currently supervising 2 PhD students. Dr. García-Linares has been recently granted with the Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral research grant and one of the best doctoral Thesis awards at UPM. He has published 27 JRC articles (20 from journals of the 1 st quartile), 2 scientific book chapters, 3 patents and has participated in 35 international PV conferences. Regarding project management, he has participated in two project management courses and in more than 15 research projects as research staff
