MITTIGA Alberto
Senior Researcher - Group leader in the research activity on CZTS
ENEA Photovoltaic Technologies unit - Photovoltaic and smart Network Division - Energy Technologies Department [DTE-FSN-TEF]
Short Bio
Alberto Mittiga received his physics degree (cum laude) from the Rome University ""La Sapienza"" in 1986 with a thesis on polycrystalline silicon solar cells. After some years of reasearch activity at the University of Rome, he was employed at Eniricerche as a researcher in the Material Science Department. From 1994 he is a researcher in ENEA (the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development).
He worked on several c-Si and a-Si devices (solar cells, Thin Film Transistors, particle detectors) and on the processes involved in their production (Hydrogen diffusion, grain boundary characterization and passivation, a-Si:H photodegradation and laser recrystallization). On these topics he performed both experimental investigations and numerical modeling. Later on he turned to the investigation of low cost and earth abundant materials for PV as Cuprous oxide and kesterites. At the moment he is leading the ENEA research activity on CZTS.
