CHEETAH knowledge Exchange Portal is an integral part of CHEETAH project web site powered and developed by DTE unit of ENEA ©2014 - 2018 with support of all CHEETAH Partners. Starting from early 2018, CHEETAH KEP moved its first steps to became EERA Knowledge Exchange Platform for PV Technology (KEPT-PV). A new name for the previous platform characterizing our will to serve better and more efficiently in Knowledge Exchange a wider European and International PV RTD community.

Short course on

Electrical characterization of multijunction solar cells

Prof. Carlos del Cañizo
Dr. Pablo García-Linares

13th  December 2016
11:00 – 12:30 CET

Universidad Politécnica de Madrid
Instituto de Energía Solar

The electrical  behaviour of multijunction solar cells (MJSCI) cells is inherently different than that of conventional single junction (SJ)  due to the internal series connection of several junctions with different band-gaps. This short course will focus on special attention should paid to the electrical  characterization of MJSCI based on current-voltage characteristic (I–V curve) under dark conditions and under illumination, electroluminescence and spectral response/quantum efficiency characterization of MJ solar cells. The fundamentals of these techniques, as well as the intricacies of their application to MJSC will be reviewed in this webinar, with particular attention to addressing the challenges required to appropriately measure state of the art devices, e.g. metamorphic triple-junction cells, 4-junction MJSC, etc.
